南非《承认和执行外国仲裁裁决》还有一条针对外国货币裁决的专门规定，对于要求支付外国货币的仲裁裁决，若在南非执行，则应根据裁决作出之日而非支付之日的外汇汇率将该外国货币兑换南非货币再进行支付。南非法律委员会认为应废除该条规定，因为它损害了外国仲裁裁决的效力。另外，在裁决作出之日而不是在支付之日将外国货币兑换成南非货币会间接地影响仲裁庭作出的涉及利息的裁决，对一方当事人有利而损害另一方当事人的利益。
由于南非《承认与执行外国仲裁裁决法》存在着上述诸多弊端，南非法律委员会正考虑采纳1985年的《联合国国际贸易法委员会国际商事仲裁示范法》，制定一部新的国际
仲裁法，以取代该法。
